The listed books are all available in the library. I've tried to restrict the list to general literary histories that have sections on our period, so that they'll be written with an introductory audience in mind, rather than for specialists who already have a pretty clear idea what this is all about. This isn't an exhaustive list, but these are reasonable starting points. Most of these aren't focused especially on drama and theatre; that's okay, and may even be useful at this point, because it might be easier to find informative material.
