research proposals and projects:

morin3 -- 3 sspaced pages plus references; there is a lot of detail here about the case, and some issues are very important, such as tunnel vision, and reconstructed memory ... if these are developed more it will further strengthen the analysis; the case is covered well, and sources are good; perhaps pictures would be nice?; good beginning. B 14.5 project: 16 slides with titlepage, refspage, simplified pages with subtitles, pictures, and minimal text; the essay in the notes is well written, and summarizes the issues well, drawing for example, on the Kaufmann Inquiry; overall, the slides could be better designed stylistically, but the overall coverage is comprehensive. B+23

donaldmarshall -- one spaced page with 2 references; looking at the media, and the role of cognitive biases in the case; more detail would add to the analysis. B- 14 update: do with someone else? project: this stands out as an important case because it was one of the first to be recognized as a wrongful, and also because of him being indigenous; the coverage is quite brief (11 slides with text, pictures and video) looking at the crime, the trial, and some cognitive reasons for faults in the police investigation; more analysis of psychological issues at trial, during investigation, and in media coverage would strengthen the analysis overall. B22

moreguypaul -- 2 dspaced pages with subtitles, pictures, and references; nice summary of issues and problems in the case; especially important are the methods for reform mentioned by the Commission; overall, excellent work. A17 project: 15 pages, including titlepage, table of contents, refspage, and blankpage; combination of text and photos, cleanly designed; the informmation on tunnel vision is detailed, and includes important detail such as delayed disclosure; and included are also ideas on prevention; overall, the project is informative and stylistic. A25

tunnelvision3 -- 4 dspacedpages including titlepage, one reference; the application of the cognitive bias to individual cases is good; overall good, could use subtitles to separate cases, and more references. B+15.5 project: this is one of the main cognitive issues affecting cases overall; there are 15 slides including titlepage and refspage, subtitles, pictures, and a brief examination of 3 cases; overall the issue is well discussed,a nd the reasons for it are summarized; good topic, good work. A-24/30

tamarabroomfield -- 2 people, 3 sspaced pages including subtitles, picture, titlepage and refspage; amazing information on Motherisk and the faulty testing method; a 2009 case for the forensics file. A17 project: interesting case; there are 2 people, 10 slides including titlepage and refslide, pictures and text on the slides, and text in the notes; the case is summarized well, but a bit too concisely, so more detail on the trial, the use of the forensic evidence, and whether it is used in other jurisdictions as well as the one oter case cited here; overall, good summary, good be developed in more detail, especially for two people. B22

guypaulmorin -- 2 people, 4 dspaced pages including titlepage, subtitles, and extensive refspage; good summary of the case, and good on the 'lessons learned'; stylistically, would benefit from some pictures, and substantially more on the Kaufman Inquiry would extend the analysis; overall, good work, could be developed more, especially for 2 people. B+15.5 project: this is a classic case for a variety of reasons, not the least of which might be tunnel vision on the part of police; there are 2 people, 16 slides with pictures and charts, a titlepage and refspage, and text in the notes; one item that is missing in an otherwise complete survey of the case is the way in which police work was not only negligent and sloppy (ignoring other leads) but bordering on the criminal (forging case notes); overall, good treatment of the case, and including that police nagle would make the analysis stronger. A-21/30

cp5 -- 3 sspaced pages including titlepage and refspage; an excellent statement of the method, comparing legacy media to social media, for shifting narratives, with a sensitivity to the theoretical consequences; overall, excellent work, could have terms explained more perhaps. A17 project: classic, well-publicized case; there are 17 slides including titlepage, refspage, pictures and notes; the comparison of egacy media and contemporary social media is good, if lacking in detail -- more information and detail on what was done and found would enhance the analysis; overall, excellent work, could be expanded more. A25

tunnel vision -- 3 people, 4sspaced pages including subititles, titlepage and refspage; a nice contemporary case, and there is a lot of detail about tunnel vision, etc.; more on the actual case (then) and what it looks like (now) would add more detail to the project; overall, good work, good topic, could be developed more for 3 people. B15 project: this is one of those underlying psychological issues that is seen so often in wrongful cases, especially at the beginning, curious; there are 3 people, 15 slides including titlepage and refspage, and the slides are well designed with a minimum of text and pictures; overall, this is quite comprehensive, discussing the case and its implications; more on the exoneration process, perhaps, and the steps that had to be taken to win their innocence, would further add to the analysis, especially for 3 people. A- 21/30

philleon-- 2 people, 3 sspaced pages with subtitles and references; a good description of the case, more on the sub-topic of false confessions would substantially add to teh analysis, especially since it is a pivotal issue in this case; overall, good topic, good work, could expand the analytic issue. B-14 project: one of the oldest cases in the wrongful set that the registry has, although there are older cases of course; 2 people, 14 slides including titlepage ad refspage; slides are minimally designed with pictures and text, and the essay is in the notes; the analysis suggests that police errors were responsible for the conviction, and more could be made of that factor, as could the false confession, there is research on why that happens; overall, good case, well described, the analysis could be developed more. B-21/30

brendawaudby -- 2 sspaced pages pus references and subtitles; the role of the forensic analyst  is very important, and he is responsible for a string of wrongfuls in the 1990s; good summary of the case, and expanding the cognitive bias in dr. smith would add more detail to the analysis; overall, good beginning. B18.5  project: the 12 slides included a titlepage, refspage, text in the notes, and a summary of the case; the slides are a bit cluttered and would benefit from being more concise; the issue of the false confession, as well as the faulty forensic work, together produced a tragic injustice; overall, excellent (if short) summary of the case. A-24.

briananderson2 -- 2 sspaced pages with subtitles, picture, and refspage; good summary of the case, and some ideas on how it happened, and optimistic ideas on how change can occur as a result of insights in the case; overall, good work. A-16 project: this is an important case, not only because it's old, but also because it demonstrates racism; there are 13 slides including titlepage and refspage, with subtitles, pictures, and text in the notes; it covers the details of the case, what went wrong, and what could now be done to prevent such cases in the future; overall, excellent work. A22/30

briananderson -- 5 sspaced pages with subtitles, 2 refs (none academic), and a list of key points; if you have the 'media investigations' it would be nice to include them; also, more could be said about what the 'improved post-conviction review mechanisms' are; overall, good summary/commentary on the case.  A-16 project: this is an interesting case, in part because it is so old, but also because it shows some of the systemic errors facing indigenous people; the 16 slides have one picture, minimal text, no essay in the notes, and no references; the case is described simply, and could use more elaboration on the part of the police, the media, etc; overall, needs an essay and more development both stylistically and substantively. C+20

sherrysherett -- 2 sspaced pages with subtitles, and a small refspage; this is an important case, because maybe the prosecution was all too willing to accept his testimony...; and the personal bias smith had was directed toward single moms in general...; nice conclusion on training; overall, good case, good summary. A- 16 project: this is an important case, epecially in terms of its implications for revising standards of training; there are 16 slides including titlepage and refspage; slides have a minimum of text, with most of the text in the notes; stylistically, there are very few pictures, and they could be included more to illustrate the ideas better; overall, thoughtful and comprehensive, could be developed more stylistically. A-24/30

morin2 -- 2 sspaced pages with subtitles and a separate refspage (institutional sources); the case summary is good, although mostly from the fifth estate video; using some academic sources to explain the cognitive biases would add more detail to the analysis; overall, good case, and summary, could work up the psych angle more. B15 project: this is one of the classic cases, and illustrates some important cognitive biases; there are 4 sspaced pdf pages with subtitles, no titlepage or references or pictures; he case is summarized well, and as with the proposal it conforms to the fifth estate video; more analysis of the forensic factors (given the timeframe), and of the significance of the media coverage at the time would add to the analysis overall. C+20

informants -- 1 sspaced page and a mixed refspage; this succinctly outlines the promise and problem of jailhouse informants -- mentioning more cases where they are used and found problematic would widen the scope of the essay; overall, important topic, could use more examples, eg. sophonow. B15 project: this is a good topic, and they are found in so many wrongful cases; there are 9 slides including titlepage and refspage, pictures, two relevant cases, and minimal text on slides; the text is in the notes, but perhaps it is a bit short for the essay; there is the idea that they will be presumed to be telling the truth, but it seems that prosecutions are all too willing to use informants in the past, perhaps in a self-serving way; overall, good issue, could get into the cases in more detail. C+20

tunnelvision -- 3 pages plus mixed references; working with the theme of tunnel vision, it can be shown to undermine an investigation in really simple ways; working with subsections and subtitles would help develop themes and isolate cases as examples; overall, good theme, explained well. B+15.5 project: this is a nice simple concept that is seen in so many cases, which is surprising because it is so easy to identify, and to perhaps correct; there are 11 pages including titlepage and refspage, subtitles, and a few pictures; overall, excellent work. A-24

briananderson3 -- 2 people; 3 pages including subtitles, references; a good summary of the case, and what went wrong; the addition of the role of the media is good, especially the change in narratives, including some example would make the analysis stronger; overall, excellent work. A17 project: this is a recent case, from winnipeg, which showcases racism in the justice system; there are 2 people, and 20 slides including titlepage and refspage; there is a lot of detail on the slides but they are well designed, an the text is in the notes; there is a passing mention of dangerfield, but he is not otherwise discussed as involved in the case; overall, excellent work. A+ 27/30

morin4 -- 4 pages including titlepage and refspage; there is a good summary of the case, some theoretical explanation for what happened, and some sugestions for reform mentioned coming out of the commission of inquiry -- some quotations from the inquiry would add to the analysis; overall, excellent work. A17 project: this is one of the classic cases that sensitized researchers to systemic issues in investigations... there are 20 slides including titlepage and refspage, there is too much text on the slides and nothing in the notes which makes for a short essay component; the overview of the case is good, and some issues, like other suspects and police manipulation of evidence could be anaylzed more; overall, good topic, should analyze some issues more, and develop the ideas in the notes. C+20/30

witnesses -- 1 page sspaced, pus refspage; a good summary of the issues, especially including a reference to the work of Loftus; isolating cases in subsections where concepts apply would make the analysis stronger; overall, excellent beginning. A-24 project: this is an important issue, for as they dig into the testimonies the systemic errors come to light; excellent overview of the issues, and the sample cases, and especially the suggestions for reform, eg. double-blind lineups. A25

baltovich -- 4 sspaced pages including titlepage, subtitles, and refspage; excellent overview of the case, and explanation (cognitive-based) for what happened; developing more of the media coverage in quotations, etc. would add more to the analysis; overall, excellent beginning. A25 project: this is a case most likely linked to bernardo; there are 17 slides including titlepage and refspage; the case is summarized well, and the media angle is good, as it probably was consequential in the case; a curious angle in the case is the use of hypnosis, and how much that might be linked to wrongfuls; overall, good overview of the case. A25

morin5 -- 4 pages including titlepage, and mixed refspage, subtitles; good summary of the case; developing the media angle more with exhibits, quotations, etc., would make the analysis stronger; overall, excellent beginning. B+15.5 project: 9 dspaced pages including titlepage, refspage, no subtitle or pictures; the analysis is fairly general, and could be strengthened by more detail into the investigation, for example, and how other leads were ignored, etc; overall, fiarly general, could be developed more. C+20

simonmarshall -- 2 pages including subtitles, list of points, extensive references; the case is discussed well, with many points showing how the wrongful 'happened'; the role of the media is important in this case, and could be developed more; overall, excellent overview. A17 project: and one thing this case also illustrates, is a false confession; there are 2 people, 18 slides with an accompanying 7 page essay, which should be in the notes section; overall the slides have too much text/detail, although the case is described well, the pictures are 'stock' in the main and could be more original. A-24

morecp5 -- 3 sspaced pages including subtitles, references; good summary of the case, good detail, and mention of the coerced confessions; if one of the issues in the case was the 'public hysteria', some examples of that media coverage would strengthen the analysis; overall, good case, could highlight media more. A-16 project: this stands out as a highly racialized case, and the media is notorious for its role in sensationalizing the events; overall, this is a good summary of the case and the factors involved in the wrongful; the role of the media is mentioned well, and the visual examples are good; overall, excellent review of the case. A25

guypaul -- 2 sspaced pages including subtitles and footnotes; excellent summary of the case, and very well written; (what does the coercion of time and space mean?); there are many mistakes in this case, and the role of the media in discussing those problems (after the fact), could be highlighted more; excellent overview. A+18 project: this is a classic case because it combines all the factors, police and forensic misconduct, witness issues and linkage blindness, various cognitive issues... there are 15 slides covering all these aspects of the case, and they are all very well-designed, with text in the notes; overall, excellent work. A+27

mediaguilt -- 5 pages including subtitles, extensive refspage; the role of the media is highlighted, and examined using theories such as 'agenda-setting', and discusses how media 'narratives' can solidify the perception of guilt; overall, very detailed. A+18 project: this is an excellent issue for consideration, because of how it permeates the adjudication of trials, especially sensational ones; good development of the issues; could be (briefly) applied to more than one case; overall, excellent treatment of issues. A+27

amandaknox -- 5 pages including subtitles, titlepage, pictures and colour, lists, refs, etc; overall this is a detailed and visually interesting proposal; citing some examples of media coverage might illustrate the (cultural) bias in the case; overall, excellent beginning. A+18 project: this is a famous international case; there are 28 slides with lots of information, charts, pictures, etc., but no apparent essay notes; overall the case is organized and presented well, the cognitive biases are well explained, and the cultural mis/interpretations are good; the media angle is especially important, and perhaps that could be developed more; overall, excellent overview of the case, needs more essay component, and less text on the slides. A-24

allenwoodhouse -- 4 sspaced pages including titlepage, subtitles, varied refspage; this is an interesting contemporary case, displaying the effect of systemic racism, and misconduct on the part of the police; the writing is good, and the motivation to improve policing thru examining its mistakes is also good; excellent beginning. A+18 project: this is an important case, in that it especially illustrates racism; the 10 slides have pictures, a minimum amount of text, titlepage, no refspage, and little text in the notes; overall, the case could be developed in more detail, eg. the cognitive biases pesent in the investigation, and perhaps the role of the media if that's relevant. B-21

mailmangillespie -- 4 sspaced pages including subtitles, refspage; an unusual NB case, involving the integrity of the police, who are often in the front line on such cases; this case is a good example of the 'social harm' that can be done in a wrongful, and that cost is as important as the legal injustice; excellent case. A17 project: as noted on the proposal, this is an unusual NB police; the presentation has 13 slides, with pictures and text on the slides that is faint to read; there are no notes making for a short essay; more on the role of the police, and their willingness to reform and what that entailed would deepen the analysis; overall, short, could be developed more. B-21

allenwoodhouse2 -- 3 pages including media refspage; there is a lot here (only implicitly stated) about 'social harm', the damage to the individuals, and to their community, and also to the family of the victim -- bringing that out more explicitly would add more psychological detail to the analysis; good case, good beginning. B15.5 project: this is an important case because of how it very clearly illustrates systemic racism in the criminal justice system then; there are 11 slides, which is a bit short, with text, pictures, and notes; again, the impact to individuals and the community is an implicit theme which resonates quite strongly and could be developed more. B22

romeophilleon -- 3 sspaced pages including subtitles and refspage; so a 'fault-based' wrongful rests on the idea that people make mistakes, and then stick to them despite contrary evidence, which means that others would become aware of that, undermining justice -- making this more explicit would strengthen the analysis; good case. B-14 project: this is important as one of the oldest wrongfuls in the canadian collection; there are 20 slides including titlepage, subtitles, pictures, text in notes, and too much text on the slides; this is very thorough, and what comes out strongest is him as a person, not just a case or a reference, but the personal struggles he went through; overall, excellent review of the case. A-24

glennassoun -- 2 people; 2 pages including references, picture, subtitles; the facts of the case are pretty straightforward, but the serial killer angle is worth exploring more: were there a lot of murders at the time, did they police suspect, what was the evidence that was destroyed, etc.?; that could be developed more; good case. B-14 project this is a recent case, especially interesting because of the link to a probably serial killer who actually committed the crime; 13 slides with text and pictures outlining the case, titlepage and refspages, text in notes; a pretty factual treatment of the case, more analysis of tunnel vision, police mistakes, media coverage, etc., (epecially since it was the independent media (halifax examiner) which really got this case back in the public); would strengthen the analysis; overall, good case, illustrates important issues, could be developed more
in some angles. B+23

marquardt -- 2 sspaced pages with subtitles, web-references; the case is simple, forensic error -- more on why that happened would add more detail to the analysis; good case, and there were many others like it; overall, good beginning, needs to be developed more psychologically. B-14 project: this is an important case, in that is one of many which showcases forensic error; however, of the 11 slides including titlepage and minimal refsage, there are no notes leaving the project short in the essay component; while the case is described in the slides, there could be ore analysis of the psychological issues involved, such as perhaps 'noble cause bias'; overall, good case, short and could be developed more.  C-18/30

leightonhay -- 2 pages including mixed refs; good case, more details on what happened could be provided, and more on the role of media coverage in his exoneration, and on racial bias in his conviction would develop the analysis more; overall, good case, needs some more development. B-14 project: interesting case; there are 16 slides, with titlepage, refspage, too much text and some pictures; the identification of the various issues at work in the case is good, and could be matched more to the psychological research on eyewitness identification, for example, and the problems associated with that; overall, good summary of the case, could be linked more to the research, and reduce the aount of text on the slides stylistically. B22

waltermcmillan -- 3 pages including titlepage, subtitles, mixed refs; the racial bias theme is strong, and is detailed well; is there anything that can be found in the media either at the time of conviction or later?; overall, good case, explained well. A-16 project: important topic, american racism; there are 15 slides with titlepage, refspage, subtitles, and pictures, and too much text on the slides and none in the notes; overall, good discussion of the issues, could be arranged better stylistically. B22

morin -- 3 pages including subtitles, mixed refs; the facts of the case are laid out, and could have more detail, eg., on the missing evidence, errors, etc; and more on the psychological factors of cognitive bias would enhance the analysis; overall good, could develop the analytic angle more. B-14 project: a classic case; 15 slides including titlepage, refspage, subtitle, text in thenotes, and pictures; there is too much text on the slides, but the elements of the case are covered well, eg. informants, role of the media, forensic error, etc; overall the case is well covered, and stylistically the slides could present less text to make it look cleaner, and easier to read. B+23

truscott -- 2 sspaced pages, plus mixed refspage; a thoughtful coverage of the case, showing where mistakes wer,e made, and using that to argue for evidence-based training so as to avoid making cognitive errors; overall, good case, and that psychological angle could be developed more, as could the role of the media. B+15.5 project: 16 slides with minimal text on slides and in notes, pictures; the overall argument is that it is a series of overlapping factors which caused the wrongful conviction, such as eyewitness and forensic error; more development of the role of the media in his exoneration would strengthen the case overall; good summary B22

milgaard -- 3 sspaced pages with subtitles, pictures, and mixed refspage; good coverage of the case, and reflection on the cognitive biases involved; more on the role of the media, if possible, would show how the case got public attention; overall, good case and analysis. A-16 project: this is one of the classic canadian cases, and there are 18 slides including titlepage and refspage; the text is on the slides, not in the notes, accompanied by pictures (such as the 1970 conviction headline photo); the outline of the case is good and covers a lot of the relevant factors, such as problems with the police investigation; overall, good work, should have text in notes. A-24

tunnelvision2 -- 2 pages with subtitles, picture, 2 references; the concept of tunnel vision is a good one in wrongful cases, because it does show where investigators have an 'investment' which they are unwilling to part with -- it is one of many cognitive biases; overall, good, perhaps more examples would help support the analysis. B-14 project: this is an important concept, and seems to be at the heart of many wrongfuls; there are 13 slides with text and pictures, and a few key cases; the analysis of how tunnel vision works could have more detail, but it is clearly explained, and suggests at the end that more training is the key to preventing it; overall, a good topic, and is presented well; including some suggestions from eg. the Kaufman Inquiry would make the idea of 'training' more specific; overall, good work. B+23

miaponoose -- 3 pages including mixed refs; interesting case, and using subtitles would help bring out specific elements and themes more; for example, was racism an issue, was this a white community, was there pressure to solve the case?, and so on. overall, good case, the psych angle is good, more on race perhaps. B-14 project: this Ontario case clearly illustrates the impact of racism in the courts, however explicit or implicit it is; the inclusion of statistics on over-representation really swings the analysis, and anchors the idea that all the cognitive mistakes had a basis in racism; overall, excellent work. A-24

hosannah -- 3 people, 3 pages with subtitles, and mixed references; did the pathologist make an error that he should have been aware of, or was race/ethnicity perhaps not part of his training?, perhaps it was an error that was easy to make?; overall, an interesting case, and pollanen appears in other wrongfuls as well; good start. B-14 project: the pathologist in this case was involved in other wrongful cases, sometimes in overturning convictions, like mullins-johnson; there are 2 people, 13 slides including titlepage and 2 refspages; a summary of the case and what plausibly went wrong; stylistically, the presentation could be better organized, and substantively, the race factor could be strengthened as well; overall, this is an interesting case, especially the vegan angle. B-21/30

chrismccullogh -- 2 pages with subtitles, and references; there is a long list of things that went wrong in the case, were they obvious at the time or only in hindsight?; how was he convicted on the basis of lies?; more on the timeline, and on the psychology would help the analysis. C13 project: 24 slides including titlepage and refslides, some pictures, text on slides but not in the notes making fr a short essay; these cases are always important, and they usually share the same features -- more on the cognitive issues involved on the part of the police and witnesses would help develop the case analytically; overall, essay component missing, could develop the issues more. D15/30

eyewitnessmisid -- 2 pages, 2 references; there are many factors which influence eyewitness identification, from emotion, to race, lineups, and time of day; making the examination more aligned with these factors would strengthen the analysis; using subtitles might help identify themes as well; overall, good topic, could be developed. C13 project: late, 5 dspaced pages including one reference, no titlepage , subtitles, or pictures; there are many issues raised briefly, eg. race, which could be gone into i more detail; overall, the analysis needs to be developed more, and improved stylistically. D-15 redo: 10 slides (or 7 pages), with information on trauma, confessing, and the sophonow case; overall, it is fairly general in substance, and it would benefit from more detail; stylistically the pictures and text should be combined, for greater effect. C+20/30

hernandez -- 5 pages, including titlepage, subtitles, and 2 references (none academic); as said at the end, there are many factors which feed into a wrongful, and disentangling them is difficult, as is understanding why they occur in the first place; overall, good summary of the case, more psychology would help. B-14 project: there are many factors involved in this case, and they all seem to contribute to the wrongful outcome; stylistically there is too much text on the slides, and that could be simplified; overall, excellent detailed summary of the case. B+23

eddieleehoward -- 2 pages with subtitles, and mixed refspage; it is easy to point to problems in the investigation and in the forensic analysis... for context, was bitemark identification still widely used at this time?, had it already resulted in wrongfuls?, had it been identified as an issue by any authority? good case, more context needed. C13 reread: further to the earlier comments, more on the forensic context of bitemark analysis would strengthen the analysis, and amplifying the work of that odontologist you mentioned would certainly make the case more pointed. Overall, well organized and well-written, and good references. B15 project: problem/resend. 2 people, 14 slides including titlepage and 3 refspages, text in the notes and too much text on slides, some pictures, the case is simply explained and would benefit from some media analysis, for example, or more detail on outdated forensic techniques; overall, good case, could be developed more, especially for two people. B-21

mariashepherd -- 2 pages with subtitles, 3 refs; the case is one of many in Ontario in the 1990s, and more could be made of the role of the pathologist, ie. what motivated him, what led him to the conclusions he had, how was the conviction overturned; overall, good case, could use more psychology in the analysis. B-14 project: this is an important case, for it illustrates the impact of (faulty) forensic evidence; there are 11 slides, which makes the essay component short, and some material, like police misconduct doesn't seem to be an issue in the case; there is information on the pathologist, however, and how he was responsible for many other cases; overall, good summary, and could be developed more, especially on the psychology of the pathologist. B-21

omarkhadr -- 2 pages with subtitles, references; this is an important case, politically as well as legally; the case is well described, in its errors and its shortcomings; more on his illegal treatment as a sign of his wrongful conviction would extend the analysis; overall, good work on a difficult case. B+15.5 project: the nature of his 'exoneration' is not quite argued as a case of wrongful conviction, but rather as a violation of the rights of the child? -- more clarification of that issue would strengthen the analysis; overall, good presentation of the case, and good design, could be developed more analytically. B+23

morin6 -- 2 sspaced pages with subtitles, pus refspage; good summary of the case, and the things that 'went wrong'; the case certainly ranks as one of the better known cases; was there media coverage which might have been influential one way or the other? overall, excellent beginning. A-16 project: this is one of the classic cases, and there are 12 sides with titlepage, refspage, subtitles, text and pictures on slides, and text in the notes; overall, this is a good summary of the case and what went wrong; more on the psychology of police misconduct, for example would get deeper into the issues; overall, good coverage, could be developed more analytically. B22

tammymarquardt -- 2 pages with subtitles, mixed references; this is an important case because it highlights forensic pathology, and it was only one of many such cases in Ontario in the 1990s; the role of her being single and indigenous could be as important as the pathologist's; overall, excellent beginning. A-16 project: this is a good case to review for mistakes by a medical professional; there are 9 dspaced pages including titlepage, refspage, subtitles but no pictures; the theme of her being indigenous, and that native people are disproportionately incarcerated in canada, and are more likely to be poor ad need legal aid, etc could be developed more as a theoretical angle in the case; overall, the case is summarized well, and the analysis could be developed more substantively, and also stylistically, eg. with the inclusion of pictures. B22
