Assignments: All assignments are (in general) excuseable but
not makeupable.
Q1 1.15. How is this image (of Ruth Snyder executed) important?
Q2 1.24. How do the images and charts complement each other?
Q3. 1.29. What does the graffiti image (about capitalism) mean?
Q4. 1.31. Should the graffiti project have worked?
Q5. 2.05. How can a photograph be a tool for social reform?
Q6. 2.10. Why are these (abandoned) places important, and why do
people go there?
Q7. 2.21. How are we (in) the media?
Q8. 2.26. What is your reaction to the police/violence module?
Q9. 2.28. In lieu of class, watch "Inside Extinction Rebellion"
24mins, and discuss how their protests use 'the image'.
Q10. 3.14. How do riots move? "... social media allow
information to spread, and looping of images to external
audiences...causes a wave of anger that leaves change in its
destruction of hateful systems... it shocks people into action and
acknowledging uncomfortable truths...caused by factors such as
social deprivation alongside policing actions seen to be
excessive... they are visual disruptions that aim to cause change
and express anger..."
research projects:
CrimeMedia -- 2 sspaced pages with
picture, webrefs, no subtitles; the idea of looking at how the media
influences public perceptions of crime, etc. is a good one,
especially in a highly mediated society; including some examples
would help, and using subtitles will help develop themes; overall,
good, could be developed more. C 65% 13/20 project: 9
dspaced pages including titlepage, subtitles, pictures, and
refspage; the discussion of how the media can distort issues and
influence public perceptions is clear and concise, with good
examples; one aspect that could be developed more is how the media
can also spur people into action, as with the George Floyd case;
overall, excellent work. A- 24/30 80%
Graffitti -- 2 people; 5 sspaced
pages (!) including titlepage, refspage, pictures, and subtitles;
the idea of graffiti as either an artform or a nuisance isn't
necessarily an either/or, altho places which criminalize it usually
end up with bad graffiti, and the opposite is also true; overall,
this shows a lot of work already; excellent. A 85 17/20 project:
2 people, 13 slides, 8 with content (too short); slides 9-13 seem to
be for design; good topic, and good treatment, especially the
cultural crim angle, and the broken windows theory could be
discussed more; putting in more examples from the BUMP project would
have been interesting; overall, good topic, needs to be developed
more for 2 people. B- 21/30 70%
PoliceSocMedia -- 3 dspaced
pages including titlepage, subtitles, refspage; idea that social
media influences public perceptions is good; including some examples
would help fill out the analysis... maybe looking at BLM, social
media?; overall, good topic, could be developed more. B- 70% 14/20
redo: 5 pgs, with examples. excellent A- 80% 16/20 project:
13 slides with titlepage, 2 refs slides, pictures, subtitles, and
all the text on the slides but none in the notes -- this makes for
cluttered slides and a short essay; there is some reference to
social media, but no proof that this effects public attitudes -- for
that there needs to be more detail; overall, some stylistic redo,
and more analysis would strengthen the essay. C+ 20/30 67%
CrimeScene -- 4 dspaced pages with
subtitles, good refs, and gory photos; at one point it is said that
the photo is immune from emotional judgment, and then at another
that it can trigger emotional reactions in the jury -- the latter is
probably more true; this suggests some of the nuances of the crime
scene photo; excellent beginning. A-80%16/20 project: 16
slides with titlepage, images, refsslide, and text in notes; the
mini 'study' clearly demonstrated the power of the image on the mock
jury; overall, excellent understanding of the issues, shows a lot of
work. A 26/30 85%
Hernandez -- 6 dspaced pages
including titlepage, refspage, subtitles, and pictures; the physical
case is central, and it is framed by visuals (camera stills,
mugshots, perp walk, brain scan, etc); this is an unusual case, and
really illustrates how the physical and visual combine; good
beginning. B 75% 15/20 project: 24 slides with all the
text on the slides and none in the notes, which makes for a short
essay and cluttered slides; the central idea that the media visually
constructs crime is good; overall, good case and good treatment;
expanding the essay component overall would strengthen the analysis.
B 22.5 75%
Stereotypes -- 2 sspaced pages
including subtitles, references; the idea that media
create/perpetuate stereotypes of crime is important, as it can
re/create racism etc; in this way the media is an incomplete and
(sometimes) inaccurate source of info, which perhaps increases with
social media; overall, good beginning (and example). B-70%14/20 project:
9 slides including titleslide and refsslide, with a lot of text on
the slides and some in the notes; there are also a couple links to
media videos; concepts are explained well, and could be more
explicitly tied to a subject; overall, good on theory, could have
some practical application. B- 21/30 70%
TedBundy -- 4sspaced pages including
titlepage, photos, subtitles, and references; it is unclear how this
is a visual project (media coverage?), perhaps more could be made of
the fact that there was a move to televise his execution by Phil
Donahue; overall, good topic, and needs to be re-presented as a
visual one. C- 60% 12/20 project: 17 slides including
titleslide and refsslide, all visuals no text on slides; this is a
story about a serial killer, and there are several paces where the
visual aspect could be emphasized more, such as photos, visual
evidence, etc. C+ 20/30 67%
StreetArt -- 3 sspaced pages (too
long) with subtitles, references; the idea that graffiti is both
vandalism and (potentially) an art form, stimulating discussions
about public space is a good one; Halifax developed a model of
(permitted) street art which might be looked at; overall, excellent
beginning. A- 80% 16/20 project: 13 slides with titlepage,
subtittles, art, and refs; there is too much text on the slides and
none in the notes, which makes for cluttered slides and a short
essay, so the content could be better distributed across slides and
notes; the writeup is good, and more examples from the Kansas
project, and perhaps an artist mentioned, Basquiat, would add more
value to the content; overall, excellent work, should be redesigned
to make slides less cluttered. A- 24/30 80%
CrimePhoto -- 5 sspaced pages (too
long), with subtitles, photos, and references; the scope of the
project needs to be narrowed down, as there is too much to cover in
the scope of the project, unless the number of examples is reduced;
overall, sophisticated treatment of the topic, needs to be made more
manageable. A- 80% 16/20
SocialMedia -- 4 sspaced pages
including titlepage, refspage, and subtitles; there are a lot of
good ideas here about the vale/danger of social media, such as
identifying suspects in criminal cases; using more specific examples
would develop the analysis more; overall, good beginning, could be
more specific. B 75% 15/20 project: 16 slides, with all the
text on the slides and none in the notes, which made their reading
difficult; a lot of the work is fairly general, but the case studies
at the end are ineresting and useful; overall, good, 'new' topic,
could be designed for better reading. B 22.5/30 75%
10
Courtroom -- 3 dspaced pages
including subtitles, charts (not explained), and references; the
scope of the proposal is very broad, and it is difficult to
determine what the focus/topic will be; it is very wide-ranging, and
using examples would help; overall, should be narrowed down, and
made more specific. C- 60% 12/20 project: 4 dspaced
pages including refspage; the topic is good, and there has been a
lot of interest in how the courtroom is effected by visual evidence;
at 4 pages this needs to be developed more, as the essay should be
7-10 pages; there should be references for the 2 court cases cited;
overall, good topic, could be developed more. D 17/30 57%
FredGraf -- 8 dspaced pages (too
long), including titlepage, 2 refspages, subtitles, and pictures;
the idea of looking at Fredericton street art is a good one, and
doable, and more local examples would buoy the contention that there
might be discriminatory findings; overall, just go out and collect
them! good beginning. B 75% 15/20 project: 26 slides showing
acollection of graffiti from around the city; minimal text in the
notes makes comments about the graffiti; there could be more
analysis overall, but this shows a lot of initiative and fun and
effort. B+ 23/30 77%
TrueCrime -- 4 sspaced pages (too
long) including subtitles, pictures, and references; there are
several examples of crime docs which exaggerate or distort criminal
issues, altho the viewers would not know (?) that was happening; the
consequence might be false or exaggerated ideas, which might be the
norm. good beginning B 75% 15/20 project: 18 slides,
including titleslide and refsslide; most of the text is on the
slides not in the notes, which makes for 'busy' slides and a short
essay; true crime, so-called, has been a big part of tv and movies,
discusing some examples in more depth would add to the analysis;
overall, great topic, and good treatment, although since it is short
it could be developed more. B 22.5/30 75%
CrimeDocs -- 4 dspaced pages
including subtitles, pictures, and web-references; looking at true
crime documentaries as reviewing a case to get at previously hidden
elements is a good idea, and there are lots of examples; the idea of
'expose' might be useful to label what is happening; overall, good
topic, good beginning. B- 70% 14/20 project: 12 dspaced doc,
with subtitles, no titlepage, some web refs; integrating the word
doc and the ppt slides would make for better reading; and the visual
aspect of the documentaries (etc) could be played up more; overall,
good work. B 22.5 75%
Surveillance -- 3 sspaced pages
including subtitles, references; several topics are discussed: video
surveillance, facial recognition cameras, ALPRs, and drones; these
are reality of modern life, and perhaps developing a theme to
connect them would build the analysis, eg. 'stranger-economy',
modern alienation, etc. B- 70% 14/20 project: 17 slides in
total, with all the text on the slides, leading up to a section on
modern alienation; there doesn't appear to be any text in the notes,
so the essay component is short; however the topics are good, eg.
bodycams, drones, and the ending section on alienation is good;
overall, good treatment of the topic, and could develop the essay
component more. B+ 23/30 77%

PoliceForce -- 4 dspaced pages
including subtitles, pictures, and refspage; the topic of police
violence against native people, as explored through art and
demonstration is a powerful one; the examples are good, and the
analysis is explicit; overall, excellent beginning. A 85% 26/30 project:
35 slides (too long); all the text is on the slides except for some
links in the notes; interesting cases, and the interpretation of
visuals is centre stage; developing the essay component more would
add to the analysis; overall, excellent work, and could be developed
more. A- 24/30 80%
Evidence -- 3 dspaced pages including
pictures, refspage; visual evidence is an important tool for
investigation and prosecution; it is both objective and (sometimes)
open to interpretation; outlining the usefulness of the visual in
specific cases might help build the analysis more; overall,
interesting topic, good beginning. B- 70% 14/20 project: 21
slides including titleslide, subtitles, many visuals, and all the
text with none in the notes, which makes for crowded slides and a
short essay; a comprehensive overview of many ways in which the
visual is useful/problematic in court; overall, excellent work,
should develop the essay angle more. A- 24/30
BodyCams -- 5 dspaced pages, including
subtitles, pictures, and refspage; the use of body cameras is not
universal, and the problems of cost and storage are not easily
solved; narrowing the objectives and issues down to develop key
issues would focus analysis better, eg. use in investigation; good
topic, overly broad. B- 70% 14/20 project: 14 slides,
including titleslide and refsslide; minimal text on the slides,
expanded in the notes, good visuals; the issue of bodycams is a
recent one, and a good topic, especially as the rcmp are adopting
the technology nationwide; more on the controversy over its use
would make it more critical; overall, good work, could be developed
more. B 22.5 75%
Trafficking -- 3 sspaced pages
including subtitles, references; human trafficking is an important
topic in today's globalized, changing society, and focusing on
visual campaigns to educate and help push to abolish it is a good
angle; excellent topic, and beginning. A 85% 17/20 project:
12 slides with images, text in notes, and videolinks; good
understanding how some campaigns are effective because they have
stories, faces... visuals are deliberate emotional tools, and effect
action; overall, this is succinct, summarizes some successful
strategies of campaigns, and presents the issues well; excellent
work. A 85% 26/30
MoreGraf -- 4 dspaced pages including
subtitles, references; there are many different issues here, and
perhaps a strong theme is 'resistance'... developing the theoretical
angle of why the visual is important will deepen the study of
graffiti; overall, good topic, could be developed more analytically.
B- 70% 14/20 redo. 3.31. now 5 dspaced pages, with more focus on the
resistance angle, and 3 appropriate (visual) examples. excellent
work. A- 80% 16/20 project: 10 dspaced pages, including
titlepage, refspage, and 4 image pages; the analysis is
straightforward and uses theoretical approaches to understand
the significance of graffiti as other than vandalism; the images
should be incorporated into the text to make for a more seamless
read; overall, excellent work. A- 24/30 80%
20
Lombroso -- 2 sspaced text,
well-written, with subtitles, and academic references page; an
original take on the assignment, and in fact there is much that is
visual in early crim, mapping for example; overall, good choice of
topic, could have more examples, excellent beginning. A 85%
26/30 project: 24 slides including titleslide and
refsslide; slides are designed well for reading, altho in some cases
there are too any words, and t could be simplified more; in some
cases slides are supported by text in the notes (although uneven);
the visual angle could be stressed more, eg. how lombrosian theory
looked for stigmata or signs, to beccaria and his work on 'types',
and to sheldon's work on somatyped, etc., or even more on his work,
on tattoos, for example; overall, good work, could be developed
more. B+ 23/30 77%
GrafArt -- 4 dspaced pages with
subtitles, academic references; the discussion is largely academic,
whether graf is art or protest or both or something else; including
some examples would 'illustrate' the issues more; overall, quite
good, could be developed more. B 75% 15/20 rewrite: 5 pages, now
includes pictures and video about Toronto street art; excellent
summation of the issues. A 85% 17/20 project: 11 slides,
with text and pictures; essay is in the notes; developing more
examples of how graffiti can be educational or restorative would
really add to the analysis; overall, a bit short, could benefit from
more examples. B- 21/30 70%
TrueCrimeDocs -- 2 sspaced pages
with subtitles and pictures, and academic references; a bit general,
but raises some good issues, for example, that true crime docs can
be educational or sensationalistic, truthful or not, etc., but that
they have an effect on the public (audience); good overview. B 75%
15/20 redo: 3.24. there are a lot of topics here, and the
preliminary analysis shows a sophistication of the issues; many of
these cases/issues should probably have only one slide to fit it all
into 20; keep the analytic theme front and centre, and it should be
interesting; excellent work, thanks for redoing. A 85% 26/30 project:
there are many examples of true crime docs, from ballads to
podcasts, to film, and so on; the significance of these media forms
is well explained, and might benefit from building up the
psychological angle more; overall, excellent work, could work up the
analysis more. A- 24/30 80%
DecrimGraf -- 2 dspaced pages with
subtitles, plus academic references; this is well-written, and takes
a practical and more academic view of street art than the typical
response of vandalism; using examples will be important, and maybe
look at cities where it is tolerated, eg. Halifax; overall, good
beginning. B 15/20 75% project: 12 dspaced pages including
titlepage, refspage, subtitles, and images; thoughtful overview of
attitudes toward graffiti, and the subsequent policies which
develop, which themselves can become problematic, and using brazil
is a nice example; overall excellent work. A 85% 26/30
GeorgeFloyd -- 2 people; 6 dspaced
pages with subtitles, pictures, titlepage, and refspage; good topic,
as it was covered well in street art. social media, and mainstream
media; it probably had more impact because of the visuals than it
would have had otherwise; excellent topic, good beginning. A- 80%
16/20 project: 2 people; 20 slides with some text in the
notes (doesn't seem enough for an essay), titleslide and 2
refsslides; the analysis of social media, and of how hashtags spread
information around the world sparking protests is excellent;
overall, good analysis, should develop the essay component more. A-
24/30
25
PretrialMedia -- 4 sspaced pages
including pictures, subtitles, and excellent refspage; there are two
cases discussed, Dr. Shepherd and Mount Cashel, either would
suffice, but together they point to the 'problem' of pretrial
publicity, and its effect on legal proceedings despite legal issues;
overall, excellent topic and well written. A+ 90% 18/20 project:
11 pages including titlepage, subtitles, and references; the text is
also in the notes section of a 20 pg powerpoint; there are several
cases, any one of which could be focused on solely, and perhaps in
more depth; the mount cashel story stands out for public bias which
could never hope to be totally eradicated from deliberation;
overall, this shows a lot of work, excellent. A 85% 26/30
TVandCrime -- 4 dspaced pages with
subtitles, pictures, and refspage; as stated, it is important to
realize that crime media might be the only source of information
about crime, so a person/public would never know whether it was
accurate or not; a bit general, could use more examples, but a good
beginning. B 75% 15/20 project: 13 slides with minimal
information and pictures on slides, and some text in the notes; the
visuality of tv is very believable, and certainly can effect what
the audience thinks of crime and control; developing that essay
angle more would make for a stronger essay; overall, good work,
could be developed more. B 22.5/30 75%
CrimeMapping -- 3 dspaced pages
with subtitles, picture, and also a refspage; a general discussion
of crime mapping and how it reinforces (perceptions of) inequality,
which goes back to the Chicago School and their map with the 'zone
of transition'; overall, good topic, needs examples. B+ 77% 15.5/20
project: 13 dspaced pages including titlepage, refspage,
subtitles, and multiple images; good use of a critical approach to
look at spatial predictive crime models, and to suggest that biased
data gets reproduced in profiling based policing; overall, excellent
work, (images could be larger). A 26/30 85%
Photos -- 4 dspaced pages with
subtitles, pictures, and refspage; the photo is important as a
record of events, as a reminder of things forgotten or brushed
aside, and as a way of rating the importance of social issues; using
examples will help develop the analysis more, but this is a good
beginning. B- 70% 14/20 project: 7 dspaced pages (short)
with subtitles, photos, and refspage; the idea of looking at photos
and judging their impact, etc., is a good idea; using more images of
similar of the same event would help develop the analysis more;
overall, good work, could develop the philosphical/psychological
angles more. C+ 20/30 67%
MediaonCrime -- 3 sspaced pages
with subtitles, pictures, and refspage; the writeup is fairly
general, but does raise questions about the reliability of the news
media, and how the public uses it as an information source; the
Tyson example is good, developing that more would be a good
centrepoint for the analysis; good beginning. B- 70% 14/20 project:
13 slides, with titlepage, refspage, subtitles, and essay text in
notes; this starts off mostly on crime media and social perceptions,
and while it can be inferred that the media coverage strongly
incorporates visuals in its shows and stories, more explicit of the
visual angle would make the analysis stronger; overall, good work,
good topic, could develop the visual angle more explicitly. B- 21/30
70%
30
CourtPhotos -- 4 dspaced pages with
subtitles, photo, and 2 refs; this is a very legalistic discussion
of the use of crime scene photographs, and probably has its basis in
legal decisions of the past; in a sense, they help to re/construct
the crime scene; overall, clear, and could use some history? good
beginning. B 75% 15/20 project: 11 slides, a bit short,
including titleside and refsslide; most of the text is in the notes,
and the slides are designed quite well; the distinctions brought out
about victims, crime scenes, etc., are excellent, eg. a photo's
prejudicial value couldn't outweigh its probative value; overall,
excellent work, could be developed more in length. A- 24/30 80%
LatinBias -- 3 pages with pictures,
subtitles, and references; this is a really interesting idea, that
the global north might portray the global south negatively as more
criminal -- is this only self-serving or does it serve a deeper
purpose such as preserving inequalities? overall, good beginning,
great topic. A- 80% 16/20 project: 16 slides of varying
design, with all the text on the slides and none in the notes --
this make for a short essay, and slides that are crowded and
difficult to read; however, the analysis is interesting, and
persuasive, and shows perhaps how there is an ideological component
of North/South relations; overall, novel, and excellent. A- 24/30
80%
LewisHine -- 4 sspaced pages (too
long), with subtitles, photos, and references; an excellent summary
of Hine's work, and describing his work as photo activism is quite
appropriate; in retrospect it is almost as if he is documenting
crimes against children, in that laws had to be passed to end child
labour. excellent beginning. A 85% 17/20 project: 16 slides,
well arranged, with photos, and text in the notes; good overview of
his work, and citing the dates that legislation was passed is a good
addition to that summary; overall, the project is well designed and
explains his work well. A- 24/30 80%
Cesare -- 4 dspaced pages including
titlepage, refspage, subtitles, and pictures; interesting idea, to
mix in pictures of the wrongfully convicted with mugshots of actual
criminals, to then determine if they can be visually picked out;
it's similar to research on 'trustworthy' faces; overall, good
beginning. B 75% 15/20 project: 23 slides including web
refsslide and titleslide; all the text is on the slides and none in
the notes, which makes for cluttered slides and a short essay; this
is a good topic, and it certainly shows the classist side of
traditional criminology -- the epilepsy angle is strange, and could
be explained more; who are the participants referred to, and how
were photos selected -- this angle cold be explained more; overall,
this is a classic topic, and could be developed more, and the
methodology side explained more. C+ 20 68%
ZoneTheory -- 3 dspaced pages
including titlepage, refspage, and subtitles; there are two theories
here, the zone mapping, and the border issues; it is okay to compare
the two cities, but the fentanyl issue is a political hot potato
right now, and not very credible; overall, needs to be narrowed down
more and reworked. C- 60 12/20 project: 6 dspaced pages
including titlepage and refspage, no subtitles, one visual; the
topic is now mugshots, and the topic is social control; developing
concepts more, eg. 'spoiled identity' would make the analysis more
substantial, especially as the essay is short -- this would help
develop the concept of stigma; overall, good topic. C- 18/30 60%
35
BostonBombing -- 5 dspaced pages
including titlepage, refspage, subtitles, and a picture; interesting
topic, and it certainly shows the value of photos in solving
crime, however it is unclear whether it is surveillance or civilian
photos; overall, good topic, very factual, could use more
development of the analysis. B- 70% 14/20 project: 15slides
with pictures, no text on the slides, all in the notes; the theme of
video surveillance is strong throughout the story, and could be
emphasized more as the story tends to be the strongest theme;
however, overall, this is a good example of the power of
surveillance in modern society. B+ 23/30 77%
StreetGraf -- 4 dspaced pages, with
subtitles, refs, and many pictures; straightforward topic, and it
would be good to use memorial photos as much as possible, just to
localize it; halifax has a similar policy, with designated graffiti
zones; overall, good beginning, good topic, and develop the analysis
of self-expression. B 75% 15/20 project: 13 slides, with
visuals, text in the notes, and also a 7 page dspaced essay; the
overall analysis could be strengthened more, eg. political
resistance; overall, good work, could develop the analysis more. B
22.5/30 75%
VideoGames -- 3 dspaced pages,
including refspage, and subtitles; this is an interesting topic, as
it is usually analyzed in terms of deviance; the issue is framed as
'bad or not', similar to the discussion around crime comics in the
1950s; perhaps the issue doesn't change, just what gets blamed;
include visuals! B- 70% 14/20 project: 16 slides with
pictures and some text; main text is in the notes; several games are
reviewed with some discussion of their problems, and perhaps some
solutions; those discussions are fairly general, perhaps some
statistics on extent of use, and/or some quotations from those who
are (un)/concerned would detail the analysis more; overall, good
topic, good review, could add in more analytic detail. B- 21/30
70%
SocMedia -- 10 dspaced pages (too
many), with extensive use of spacing (not necessary); listing points
should be replaced with summaries, to make the analysis more
readable; there are also a lot of theories, eg. Foucault, Cohen,
perhaps focus on one and develop it; overall, the argument could be
restructured, made clearer. C 65% 13/20 project: 14 slides
including titleslide and refsslide; slides hav interesting design,
with minimal text, and sometimes only a sentence in the notes, which
makes for a short essay; some concepts, such as mediatization
theory, are good, and could be developed more; overall, good
treatment of an interesting topic, and more development would make
the essay more substantial. B- 21/30 70%
MoreCesare -- 3 dspaced pages,
including refspage; the connection between lombrosian theory and
eugenics is interesting, especially in that it claims to be able to
identify the visual characteristics of the inferior; good beginning,
as is the use of nicole rafter, and the concept of 'weaponization'.
B 75% 15/20 project: 16 slides, with most of the text on the
slides not in the notes, which makes for difficult to read slides
and a short essay; the references look incomplete, some lacking
titles; overall, the connection between what lombroso studied and
current events is good, and reorganizing the text would make the
essay stronger; excellent work. A- 24/30 80%
BodycamsII -- 4 dspaced pages with
subtitles, picture, and references; good initial coverage of the
issue; the rcmp is rolling out cameras nationwide, so it might be
interesting to look at how they are framing the issue; good
beginning, could use more discussion of issues. B- 70% 14/20 project:
10 slides including titleslide and refsslide (references are
incomplete); no text in notes, so short on the essay component; the
issues raised in the text certainly support the view that this
reflects current issues; overall, while this raises good points, it
also needs to be developed more as an essay to better show what
those issues are. C+ 20/30 67%
Mullins -- 5 pages dspaced including
subtitles and refspage; the proposal lays out the basic issue, the
prejudicial effect of (improperly analysed) photos; more discussion
of the research in this area would strengthen the analysis; overall,
good topic, could be developed more. B- 70% 14/20 project:
7 dspaced pages, no subtitles or pictures, pus one refspage; a
review of the case, and the role that photos had; overall, good on
the theme, could have incorporated some stylistic elements, eg.
photos. B- 21/30 70%
Drug Crisis -- late 4.11; 2 pages
single spaced with points on how the drug crisis is portrayed, with
web-references and photo; rough, could be developed more. C 65
13/20 project: rough notes... resent: 16 slides,
including titleslide and 3 refsslides; there is a lot of text on the
slides and none in the notes, which makes for cluttered slides and a
short essay; there is some detail here that is interesting, such as
the historical anti-drug campaigns; the photo-voice project is also
very interesting; working on the 'media' theme more would strengthen
the analysis, but there is some important issues here. A- 24/30 80%
