It shall be unethical for a teacher to knowingly disregard the safety of his/her pupils

Group #  9 - Lxxxx  Jyyyyyy, Lxxx  Fyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, Nxxx Beyyyyyyyyy

Brief description of the skit(s):

During this role play, two on duty teachers discussed their hair
while a student fell and hurt herself on the monkey bars. Because
the teachers were not attempting to watch the playground and
the injury could have been preventable their disregard meant a
     child getting hurt.

Important points that you have learned by watching the role play:

School playgrounds are crazy places so it is difficult for teachers
to see everything that is going on but teachers have a responsibility
to pay attention to the playground, not each other. In this situation,
both of the teachers were on duty so they should have been
watching different parts of the playground and when Suzy fell,
only one of them should have attended to her so that the other
duty teacher would be able to watch the playground.

Important points that you have learned through the discussion on the role play:

Some one [Insert names if you wish] in the class said that even if a teacher
isn’t on duty, they have an obligation to maintain the safety of the
students so they have the authority to ask students to stop doing dangerous
things on the playground. Another concern our class had was approaching
students we are not familiar with but it is necessary for us to ensure they
are playing safely so we will have to approach them generally,
even if we don’t know their names.

Concerns I have, especially when we first begin, are the
questions “what is watching close enough?” and “how do you
keep an eye on a whole playground?”. I was informed that as
long as I have notified the principal and told them it is too
much for me to handle I won’t be held responsible if
something happens. Also, there is usually more than one teacher
    on duty.
