Cheryl Miles has had more than twenty years experience as an educator in School
District #18.  During the 1999 - 2000 and 2000 - 2001 school years she served as a
literacy mentor for District # 18.  Currently her duties have been seconded to St. Thomas
University from School District #18 as a principal researcher and project manager for a
school based literacy project.  This research project, Boys’ and Girls’ Literacy: Closing the
Gap, has been funded by the National Literacy Secretariat / Human Resource
Development of Canada.
