Questions
1. To assess the literacy performance of boys and girls in a natural, authentic environment and to investigate the discrepancy between their performance during the 2002-2004 school years.
 

2. To examine the reading preferences of boys and girls through critical response to a variety of literature genres.
 

3. To investigate the effects of Male Mentor Reading Circles on boys.  Please Note: This Roundtable intends to address Male Mentor Reading Circles (Question 3) only.  We will discuss our implementation strategies (literature and text choices; response activities; and Male Mentor Journals) and findings from our current pilot project in one elementary school.
