Former Plymouth Whaler (OHL) defenceman Richard Power is joining the Tommies and even as a rookie, look for him to make significant contributions. He has good size, a solid skating stride, and will be counted on to provide help in the defensive zone but once accustomed to the pace of the league, he should also make some offensive contributions. Richard could actually have played another year of junior hockey as he is only twenty, but he made the decision to pursue his education and the Tommies are pleased he did. He sees the ice very well and makes the first pass consistently to help his team break out of their own zone.
