Last time
I asked people to read through the course Web site and send me questions
by email. I've put all the questions I have on a
Web page and started answering them. I expect I'll finish tonight.
The page is up so you can see what people asked, and if you have questions
that occur to you that no one's asked, or questions about my answers, email
me and I'll add them to the page. If you email before the weekend, answers will be up by class time Tuesday. I hope.
Today
We'll begin by talking about "The Missing News." As often, we'll
start in groups and move to a whole-class discussion. I'll have a
printout to start with.
For Tuesday
We'll spend part of Tuesday's class looking at the range of articles recommended last time and deciding on one (or two) to focus on. Between now and Tuesday you should have a close look at the English Department's statement of "goals for English 1006" and the page of answers to questions about the course.Occasions
If you hear about new possible Occasions, post them on the board,
and do what you can to publicize them (make a pitch at the beginning of
a class meeting, or write it to truth@stu.ca). We've put a Web page up with some suggestions on it; send us information at truthfac@stu.ca and we'll add yours to that list too.
