Scene from “The Hostage”

Attack on the House
This is near the finale of the play where the police have come to rescue Leslie. The Russians have been police spies the entire time and are now attacking the house.
I thought it would be worth discussing this scene in particular because it had the potential of being done in various ways. What I seen on stage was not exactly what I had imagined when I read the script. I thought that Leslie would be shot in the commotion and in an escalating moment be revealed as dead from the events, thus not knowing exactly who shot him. Instead, what I saw on stage was the character of Leslie create the motion and action of being shot and falling to the floor. It still however, creates wonder to as who shot him and proves the accidental event. This scene, which I believe is very important to the play as a whole, was one that I was excited to see in a sense of how it would be portrayed.
