English 3336 Restoration and Eighteenth Century Poetry and Prose
Prompt # 28
16 November 2011

Moving forward

Having read all the reports, and with some luck all the responses to the reports, everyone should have some views about what would be best, for your own and everybody else's learning about the period and its writing, to turn to next. To give everybody a chance to formulate her thoughts, and to get a sense of what others are thinking, we'll do a short (ten minute) inkshed, take ten or so minutes of reading and marking insheds, and then do a round. Finally, the floor will be open for whatever hasn't been said that ought to be.

I see a number of alternatives; others may propose entirely different paths.

The assignment for next Monday will depend on what we decide today. I'll have a prompt up as soon as possible, with luck by about 6:00.

I've  received a number of nominations for the most helpful report, but since I didn't think to make the deadline earlier than 2:30, I can't report the results or transcribe the comments. I can say that a surprisingly large number of the comments don't actually address helpfulness or usefulness, but focus on how well the report is organized or written.

If you haven't yet, I invite you to respond to the feedback form. I'll leave it open till 6:00. (I don't like to leave them open for long, because spammers find them.) I'll post the results over the weekend, along with those from the nominations for most helpful report.
