19 July: Leaving Belgrave Road, Arriving Halifax
We were struck, leaving the hotel the last time, at how nice Belgrave Road
looked in the morning sun. This is looking south, away from Victoria Station ,
and this is the way we were going to walk
, toward the station. When we got there, we first stopped at the Victoria
Station sock shop,
so Rhi could get some important souvenirs. Then we bought the tickets
on the Gatwick Express, but it wasn't real clear that this was
the right train. Turned out it was, and soon we were in the departure lounge
at Gatwick, where we could
see them refueling our
"City of Ottawa." And sure enough, six hours later we were waiting for
our luggage -- endlessly
-- and then there was
one of those cliché
airport reunions.
