The Bells

Poetry over 100 lines

This poem is very interesting and very enjoyable to read. The poem has such beautiful rhythm to it, it makes you want to read it out loud. I am quite sure this was the objective of the writer. The writer separates the poem into four stanzas in which he provides a different description of bells for each.

The poem is a description of bells and the many different contexts a bell can exist in. It describes in detail the emotions that are involved in the sounds of bells and how they can make one feel. He describes wedding bells and the happiness that comes with them. He than describes the terror that is brought on by the sound of alarm bells.

The rhythm of this poem is really interesting because of how well it flows. The author makes this rhythm by repeating his words more than twice.
