This is a text that Rebecca Macleod brought to me in hopes I would be able to find some information that does not speak against Stigmata but gives definition of what Stigmata is and reason why it could be real. Most writers see stigmata as a myth, a misconception. They believe that these religious markings are the acts of those in religion that are looking for publicity for themselves and their faith.

This story focuses on allot of interesting facts about stigmata and how it can occur. The only problem with this story is just that, it is a story and all based on fiction. For example near the end of the story the character who has been receiving the stigmata has an apparition of Jesus come to him and explain some strange things as why he has given this stigmata to the man. The things the apparition says are not those of the true beliefs in the Christian faith.

There is a part in the story where the priest discusses why he does not think that the stigmata the main character is receiving should be a public issue and I really think the speech given by the priest is a good way to show how miracles in modern times are harder on the christian community than they are helpful. In the end, after seeing the apparition the man decides not to let the public know about his stigmata.

I think this is a good story to read if you want to just enjoy the light reading and get a good idea of what myths lie behind the idea of stigmata.
