Just a couple of pictures to give you a feel for it.  Here are some finches . . . . . . what?  Well, you'll need to click on the image to get the larger one, and then do a sort of Where's Waldo? but they're there. When they found the bird feeder they looked more like this: . We have no idea where they came from -- we've never had goldfinches before -- but they're all over the place this year. Dinah took another run at the snow this week; he made it as far as the woodpile , but it didn't take long to figure out where he really wanted to be (notice his tracks). The amazing thing, though, was that when the snow melted a few days later, the crocuses immediately jumped up, and after a day they looked like this: (well, actually better, but they're very hard to get decent pictures of).
