Donmouth, Old Aberdeen, and St. Machar's
May 12, 2009

Brad dropped us off at the Bridge of Don, a pretty urban location, but within a few steps we were lost in parkland leading up to the real bridge -- the 13th century Brig o' Balgownie (that's its shadow, with us looking down), and then up along the Don . -- which is a pretty nice river. Then we went up through an ornamental garden toward St. Machar's Churchyard and then the church itself -- not quite this gloomy but pretty impressive , especially the organ .(we were surprised to find music so central. There were interesting windows, but most of the picures (didn't come out very well; this one gives an idea of the layout and the ceiling) , which didn't come out all that well either.
