1100, and we liked it mainly 
for the wonderful 
wall around its central 
garden 
,and for the 
garden itself. 
Like a lot of British castles, it's been 
relandscaped and civilized
, and is still undergoing 
work. It's
just 
lovely 
to walk 
around 
, and 
read about 
-- but we were also taken 
with the local 
fauna.
