These struck us as sort of iconic images: first, a street in Kensington Market with  a gathering; and then what  they were gathered for. And finally a poster stuck up on a pole  that seemed to us quintessentially Torontonian.  Or maybe Canadian.

But the parts of the birthday celebration we actually got some pictures of were (click for the pictures).

• A stroll through Chinatown on our way to the Art Gallery of Ontario
• Two visits to the AGO as revised by Frank Gehry
• A canoe trip to the Toronto Islands and back

There was lots more, but we didn't get pictures.
