Mikhail A. Molchanov joined St. Thomas University in 2003, after working for 2 years in a senior analyst's capacity with the Government of Canada. He carries Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1989), Masters in Public Administration from New York University (1993), and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Alberta (1998). Dr. Molchanov's research interests span comparative politics, international relations, and international political economy. He is the author of Political Culture and National Identity in Russian-Ukrainian Relations (Texas A & M University Press, 2002), as well as co-author and co-editor of Ukrainian Foreign and Security Policy: Theoretical and Comparative Perspectives (Greenwood/Praeger, 2002) and The Ashgate Research Companion to Political Leadership (Ashgate, 2009). Dr. Molchanov published a number of articles and book chapters on postcommunist transitions, nationalism, regionalism, and resource politics in Russia, Eastern Europe and Eurasia. Dr. Molchanov teaches courses on comparative politics, politics of globalization and development, the European Union, and politics of Russia and Eurasia. He is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science, St. Thomas University. |
