Student Advocate
The Student Advocate is responsible for
helping all students attending St. Thomas University solve problems with
bureaucracies and enterprises of any kind, from issues with professors to
landlords. Feel free to drop a line to your student advocate
Aaron Fecteau.
SafeWheels
You're night class is over, and it's too
cold or too far to walk? Then step outside of James Dunn Hall and look for
the Orange van! SafeWheels is a free taxi service offered in the evenings
to the off-campus students living within the city of Fredericton limits.
The service operates Sunday to Thursday from 9:30pm to 11:30pm during the
regular school year.
Used Book Room
Buy or sell used text books at the Used Book
Room, located in the basement of James Dunn Hall. The service is available
in both the beginning of Fall and Winter semesters for approximately two
weeks. There is a wide array of books to choose from and an opportunity to
buy textbooks at an affordable price. Students can also sell their books
at the Used Book Room, with a small operating fee of 10% off the price of
their book.
SafeWalk
The Campus Police offer a safe walk home to
any student living in the campus area. The Campus Police have an officer
on-call nightly, do not hesitate to call 440-6666.
Campus Police
Campus Police are dedicated students hired
by the Students' Union who are committed to maintaining order and security
at campus events. They are also responsible for the Safewalk program.
Bursaries
Having trouble making ends meet this month?
Do you fear you will go hungry? The St. Thomas Students' Union offers help
to students in need on a monthly basis through the Emergency Bursaries
program. Applications are available at the Help Desk, the on-campus office
(ECH-G10), and the SUB office.
Help Desk
The STU Help Desk is there for you! Located
in James Dunn Hall, it offers students a wide array of services such as a
free phone, lost and found, and lots of school supplies. The Help Desk is
run with the help of volunteers, if you are interested in helping out
please contact Shara Munn, our Help Desk manager.
Bus Pass
Your Students' Union is happy to provide all
full-time enrolled students with a city bus pass. To get moving, just go
to the Registrar's Office and ask for your sticker which will be placed on
your student ID. The bus pass allows you to use the bus service any time,
on any Fredericton Transit bus route.
Photocopying
"Ruby" and "Jake" are at your service
on-campus and in the SUB office! Come visit for all your photocopying
needs--cheapest rates on campus!
Fax Service
"Bertha" is ready for all of your faxing
needs. She's eagerly awaiting your visit in the SUB office.
Legal Counsel
Any student in need of legal advice have
access to a one hour free session with the unions' own lawyer. For more

Publications
The St. Thomas Students' Union currently has
three different publications.
- Aquinas Yearbook:
A yearbook is a staple to almost any graduating class and makes a great
souvenir of your years here at St. Thomas.
- The Tommy Times
is a special section of the Aquinian
newspaper dedicated to all things about your Students' Union.
- STUgenda: every year the Student's Union publishes a daily planner
to be distributed with the Welcome Week kits.
External Lobbying
- CASA
is the Canadian Alliance of Student
Associations, a federal student lobby organization representing the
interests of 19 student governments and almost 300,000 students from
coast-to-coast.

NBSA
is the New-Brunswick Students Alliance,
representing the interests of the New-Brunswick post-secondary education
students. Started by New-Brunswick Premier Hon. Bernard Lord when he was
president of the Féécum at l'Université de Moncton, it is the only lobby
organization that groups all 7 Universities in New-Brunswick.
