The Page and the Stage
Prompt #4
January 8, 2008

generating and circulating some questions

Beginning work on The Hostage

By Sunday night at 6:00 you should have read The Hostage, and generated a substantial number of questions which are raised for you as you read.  In order to facilitate sharing them, your questions should be identified by stating at what point they occurred to you, like this:

p. 133: Who are "The Tans"?
p. 133: What is the R. A. F.?
p. 134-5: Why does Pat say to the audience, "That's Irish. . . . Me, I'm only a poor ignorant Dublin man. I wouldn't understand a word of it"?
When you've finished (before Sunday at 6:00), put all your questions in an email and send them to me, at hunt@stu.ca. As a "subject" for your email, use Questions on the Hostage.

Check your email on Monday morning (after about 10:00) and I'll have organized some ways of beginning to answer those questions, and will have posted a new prompt with an assignment for class on Wednesday.
