moments of truth

Three presentations, three wikis, three plays

What has to happen today will, I expect, take the entire time. We need to hear reports from each of the three Task Forces -- for Perfect Pie, Heart's Desire and Inspector Hound -- telling us what they think we need (or might want) to know about their plays.

Each group will have twenty minutes. I'll be brutal about this time limit, because if we take longer we won't get to hear all three. The one thing no one should do is read to us what we can read for ourselves on the wiki. Beyond that, help us to know what the important issues are, what you found most interesting or most likely to inform our attention to the performance, and where we should look with special attention on your wiki.

As you listen, and watch, take notes. There probably won't be much (if any) time for questions during the class session, but your assignment between now and tonight (call it midnight) is to add a posting to two of the three Forums (there is one for each wiki; links are on the List of Plays page), asking whatever questions you have, pointing out what you think is particularly important, and generally making any response which isn't simply evaluative (no "good job" or "garbage" comments).

Between now and Monday noon: Editorial Teams work

Between now and Monday noon, the Editorial Team for each play needs to explore the wiki, read the forum comments, and come up with a proposed text of about a thousand words (you can divide it into sections with headings, but you don't need to). Include quotes wherever you can (the more the better), and indicate where they came from. You might look for some images to include, and if you find them, make sure to include a link to each. All this should be saved in the "Playgoer's Companion" page, which is now linked from the main wiki for the relevant play.

You will need to meet, but you can also use the email lists set up for the play to organize and discuss what you're doing. The members of the Task Force are already on the lists, and immediately after class today I'll add the members of the Editorial Team to the each list, so that for the next few days both groups will be included. This is so that if the Task Force members have any help to offer, they can do so, and if the Editorial Team wants to ask any questions, they can do that. I get emails from each group, so I may respond to questions as well.

Email the list to let me know when your draft is finished: any group that can be done before Monday noon gets my undying gratitude.
