FAMOUS FIVE

This group's inquiry is focused on five women fighting for their rights, in 1929, enabling women to sit as members of the Senate.

The members of the group are:

Article:  "The Evolution of Women's Human Rights in the Supreme Court of Canada"

This article refers to the 1929 Privy Council Court decision that enabled women to become "persons"
and members of the Senate.  With this, we as a group are trying to understand why people believed
what they did, why these women stepped forward to such a task, and how it affected all those around
them.

We were concerned to identify the Beliefs involved in this event. We also looked at Religion and Sociology.
