This course examines the new operating system being used in schools in both New Brunswick and other Canadian provinces. The topics covered impact every aspect of teaching and fundamentally redefine the role of teachers and administrators. Class discussion will focus on the four key questions that differentiate this organizational approach from traditional schooling. Students will examine the six pillars that define the professional learning community. Topics for discussion will include building a shared vision, teacher collaboration, conflict resolution, identification of essential curriculum, common assessments, and learning interventions.
