This part of the course will examine the documents that form the legal bases for educational decision making. We will begin with an overview of international and national codes - The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Canadian Constitution and Charter of Rights and Freedoms. We will then focus on the New Brunswick Education Act, its regulations and two of its policies: 701 - The Pupil Protection Policy, and 703 - The Positive Learning Environment Policy.
